Hi, I'm James Barriscale. I set up Reaction Showreels in 2008, to create bespoke, affordable showreels for actors and other creatives across the entertainment industry.
As a busy TV and Film actor myself, I bring all my experience when editing your Reels. Making it the best it can be in the shortest time. I'll source your material too across all the different streaming services.
'Tape Mate', is a remote self-taping service for when you need a professional script partner and/or director. Self-tapes should be fun and empowering. I have a great track record of getting roles through online taping and I really enjoy doing them.
Let me take the stress out of taping and help you achieve the same success.
If you are looking to shoot new material for a project check out the 'Reaction Films' info below.
Whatever your needs, email me or call and let's create something special.

We offer a great filmmaking service
that we can design specifically to
your budget and needs.
Whether it's a short film a special event,
or a corporate film. We can help.
My Short Film 'R & J' starring Claire Cox and
Abiola Ogunbiyi has got through to the first
shortlist selection for Screen South's 'Estuary
on Film' Commission - it's a talent development opportunity delivered by Screen South
in partnership with Creative Estuary
which will co-commission 4 short films to be
made in the Thames Estuary area. This
partnership, reflects the connections being
made with the Estuary’s growth as a creative
production corridor.

I was thrilled to be invited for a Q & A with Actor Tribe. I've been helping the students
put together their showreels.
Created by Lee Boardman and Jennifer James, their star guest tutors pass on the knowledge they’ve gleaned from many years working in the business. Their multi-award-winning film 'Little Boxes' was shot entirely on Zoom during the height of the Covid lockdown.
Recent projects:

'The Light Of Day'
was my first stop-animation short film.
Together with people living with dementia, through The Bright Shadow charity, using original lyrics by Tim Knapman to a soundtrack by Natasha Rose Douglas, we created a wonderfully sumptuous stop-animation film.
I was delighted to be asked to shoot a short film segment for The Foreign Affairs Office in Ireland with Tom Vaughn-Lawlor.
Using Joyce's timeless words to create a very contemporary take on Ulysses with performers from more than 40 locations across six continents.
JoJo's came to me and asked me to film, edit and design a Crowdfunder Video. Along with Suggs from Madness, our goal was to save this much-loved building in Tankerton and with it, this incredible restaurant.
And we did - we did it! We saved JoJo's!
I was lucky to be asked to edit this beautiful short film by Claire Cox. Telling the story of Simon March's journey to open a glorious multi-coloured clog shop and just how much colour can evoke our memories.
Ode to Swimming: Jo
We had some wonderful days on the beach and in the sea for Director Claire Cox's short:
I was on camera, sound design, wrote the score and along with Claire, edited this little moment of calm in a mad world.
